Phorm, Again - Part III

The “Phorm Storm” [I may just © that] continues to rumble closer and closer. According to the BBC Phorm could be automatically blocked by some security systems.

The BBC also states “So far three net firms, BT, Virgin and Carphone Warehouse, have signed up for Phorm. Carphone Warehouse has said its customers will have to opt in to the system the other two will automatically enrol anyone that does not explicitly ask to be excluded.”

My broadband connection is with Virgin Media, so that means I have to ask to opt out. As far as I’m concerned that is unacceptable and I will be contacting them shortly asking to remove any trace of Phorm from my account. I will also ask them why I have to email them, and why they do not offer an opt out option.

Big money means some companies can do what that want, doesn’t it Virgin Media? I shall update you when I hear back from Virgin Media and what they have to say about my Phorm opt-out query.
